Madaba

Madaba or Medeba as mentioned in the Bible lies thirty Km. south of Amman is well known for its Bizantine mosaics. Its most remarkable attraction -in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George- is the sixth-century map of the Holy Land showing Jerusalem and other Holy sites. Originally made of more than two million colored tesserae depicts hills, valleys and towns from the Holy Land till the Nile Delta.
