Kerak Authentic hilltop Crusader fortress built in the main city of Moab Kingdom situated 1140 m. above Sea level. An example of the Crusader’s architectural military genius, the castle built in seven levels, is more imposing than beautiful, full of stone-vaulted halls and endless passageways. Each fortress was built to be a day’s journey from its neighbor. At night, a beacon was lit at each castle to signal to Jerusalem that it was safe.
